This board seems to be cluttered with redundant questions, please do the following if you starting new topic:

Check the Guides
Check the guides listed below, they have lots of nifty info and how-to's about modding and maintaining your yoyos

Search
If the guides don't help, there's a little red button up towards the top of your screen, right in between the "help" and "profile" buttons. Its easy to use, you can even search specific forums! Try searching for past topics that have addressed the issue you want to know about

And if those dont help, then post, but remember to:
Think About what Your Going to Post
Make sure what your going to post is clear, and easy to understand. Try to be specific with what your asking for/about.

Immortality feels kinda cool, unless of course you're just leaving this open for suggestions. If so, I think the list of trustworthy modders would be handy to have up there.

maybe this can be added as well?

frederico.dommel.be/anodizing.htm
I hope its not considered spamming. Its a guide (work in progress) to how anodizing works, what it is and lots more side info.

  • We are human after all
I second that, xfredericox. I've spent days reading up on anodizing and I still learned something.

One thing that could possibly be added in addition to you saying that, "Steel is an example of a metal unfit for anodizing; So forget about your CU, St. Eel". One cool thing is that steel can easily be copper plated. I have done it before with great results. And hey, that might be a service you start offering.

i think Todd (Clifford Ball, sp?) had a really really nice dying guide that belongs up there.

EDIT: Is it possible to add a how to paint part of the post? Here is one guide i thought was really cool, not sure what you think.

EDIT 2: Found CB's: http://www.yoyonation.com/talk/index.php/topic,7610.0.html

it may be not a bad idea to add the list of trustworthy modders in here also.

Just make 1 sticky thread with general rules, and links to all helpful threads that were stickied before.
That way they remain sticked in a way, and top of the page isn't clutterred up with 10 sticky threads.

1 Master sticky to rule them all!
Just change the stickys name to something that tells very clear whats in the thread, so people know where to find all needed info.

Also that way, people will more easily read the rules, along with their search for modding help.

but maybe that was the idea all along. I'm just mentioning because the trustworthy list thread is still not merged into this one, and i'm not sure why.

I didn't merge it because its not necessarily a guide, and its something that's going to get constantly updated (hopefully). By getting updated so often it will constantly be at the top anyway.

you forgot to lock this thread?
immortalized, we have been.
No I didn't forget to lock it, I left it open so people could post guides that they thought should be in the list, as has happened

Nifty little thing that could easily be added to this list, IMHO.

It's a guide from RIT on how to combine their dyes to make different colors. Nice.
