I hope this is a joke...

But if it isn't, you bought a yoyo that is much too high for your level and requires a "bind" to return. I suggest you learn how to do them.

Or get some 3in 1 oil (you might have some in your garage) and stick a drop in the bearing to make it come back with a tug O0

learn to bind or buy a different yoyo
search how to bind if you can land the yoyo on the string you can do it with practice

You told him via PM to STFU and Im pretty sure that doesn't mean Soar To Further Understandings, or Stand Tough and Fight Unrelentlessly, or maybe Silly Turtle Flop Uncle.

THEY ARE ALL WRONG! your yoyo must be broken!  JK yeah that yoyo is for advanced players and isnt meant to come back.  you need a beginner yoyo.  You could trade that one( just make sure you dont get ripped off) or you could use thick lube and maybe try the double loop method of putting your string on(like on transaxle yoyos) good luck O0
You One Drop fanboys should go make out..

Your yoyo turning to the side means you are throwing wrong.

It might seem strange to you, but you can set up any "advanced yoyo" to comeback with a tug

He doesn’t have to buy another to make it work like he wants, he just needs to adjust it a bit

i know he could but he'll probably want to learn to bind eventually anyway
although playing responsive will keep him smoother

he's got many suggestions and will do whatever he wants

Well I've got one grind machine and I'm telling you that not even binds will help, well at least not the simple ones.

But this yoyo can be tuned for sure to be a little more responsive.
What I've done?

  • Dropped a couple of thick lube on the bearing
  • Started using 9 cotton string
  • Also tried to just narrow a little the gap, but be very, very careful not to brake it.
  • Slapped all those weights on it. By the way, those are rubber weights, right?  ;D

Now it's a wee bit more responsive, but still not a beginner yoyo though.
I know someone that broke it, so be extra careful when you are tightening it.  :-o

Try something a little thicker?
maybe a drop of motor oil, or grease?

Anyone know if YYJ 0rings fit in them?

But remember, the more you lube the bearing, the smoother you'll have to be to complete tricks without bruised knuckles O0

I do think BosK is referring to o-rings as a response system not the weights.  :tickedoff:
