As far as masks go, what would happen if you were to splash flowable silicone on it and wait for it to cure? Silicone is extremely heat-resistant, I just don't know how much a thin layer would flow in the time it takes to cure.

I used high temp gasket maker, red, the first time. Works fine but once the powder gets over it it is extremely hard to remove.

Huh. Is it the powder hardening over it that makes it difficult to remove, or the adhesion of the silicone to the yoyo? I know I've seen liquid one-part silicones designed for masking applications that peel off easily, but that wouldn't buy much if it's the hardened powder that makes it hard to take off.

It's more the silicone thats hard to get off. The powder doesn't help but like I said the silicone makes it tough.

What's the silicone your talking about? Any manufacturers name?

Some of my work lately. Have not been posting here due to the site being on and off.
YYF Boss has a neon green and gloss black with polished spots. Also has gold flake over top...

A ambitious Sleipnir project which has a two tone gap. Gloss black ring around the bearing to gloss white gap which was blasted and now apears flat back to gloss black outer ring. Also has a rainbow splash with prism flake over the splash...

A redo of my ILYY Void. Had the glow powder on it and is now replaced with my new favorite powder. Something called Solar Rain which is translucent and has a deep chrome/black to it. It is ultra slick...
