Sharpen, or maintain?  Very different things here.  Sharpen i leave to pros as i dont have equipment or room for what i feel like would be addequate equipment.  i hone at home, though.

I use the Sharpmaker to sharpen. It isn't the greatest for super duper butter knife dull edges. It will work, but just take awhile. The sharpmaker will maintain an edge excellently for a long time as long as it came from the factory with a good edge.
