For John Huber... One is being given away and the other (cherry blossom I think) will be put up on ebay.  I especially like the Loaded Blossom Code2.  I'd keep it if I hadn't already promised these to John.  :P

Due to some concern about the longevity of the YYN board, an archive of this thread was requested.

Been awhile since I've anodized anything aluminum... so I figured I'd share a couple recent jobs.  The first is an Omnicron X which I did for Landon.  Landon wanted me to try something different.  This is sort of an inferno maple drip.

And here's a Silver Skittles Code 2 for James in the Philippines.

Stay tuned... got a couple more coming up, including an Artic Circle protoype!

PS.  Apologies, but I'm still not taking on any custom orders.  The jobs that you see that are going to other people are typically trades that I have proposed to other individuals or trades/favors to manufacturers, etc.  If you're looking to get something anodized custom, you could try SpottedBanana here on YYN.  (She's my gf and uses my anodizing line.)  Or you could try one of the other anodizers who advertise in the BST.

Jason, you need to get OneDrop to make you a signature yoyo/collab and have them all Silver Skittles anodized. I would buy ALL THE YOYOS!!!

Oh, and by the way. OMNICRON X.

That is all.

Thanks guys!  Woke up bright and early today and finally got around to finishing up this CLYW Arctic Circle that Chris graciously gave me at PNWR.  (Yeah, I've been sitting on this awhile!)

Look close and you can see the Canadian Maple Leaf hidden in side.  ;)

Here's a Monkeyfinger EvilYo done up in a 'summer' colorway, similar to one that I did back on a Bassalope a long time ago.  It was originally inspired by a FHZ painted by Brett.

How do you DO that? Is it really good stenciling, or a painted-on paste dye that you then rinse off and it leaves color in the ano, or what? That's incredible!

It's just a steady hand, meticulous stenciling and an artistic approach to the job as a whole.  Anodizing aluminum is purely a technical process.  You can buy books and even full kits on it.  It's not mysterious and there's really no secret or magic.  This is one of the reasons I don't answer specific questions on how to anodize.  If you are serious about it, all of the information required to do it is readily available.

In my humble opinion, the challenge lies in getting good results repeatedly (no flaws, good colors, appealing splash patterns, etc) and then thinking about how all those factors combine into something beautiful.  The former is about technique and the latter is about artistic vision.

(Long winded... but thanks for the compliments.  :)

Okay, enough rainbows and tulips...

Ernie's latest badass yoyo, the K.L.R. needs an equally badass colorway... and no one kills it like the Punisher.  (Although I bet he can't yoyo...)
