Buy up to 25$ worth of mods and you get a free Spiked Axle of any size!!!
So the types of mods I can do are (Can't recess metals. Sorry) :
-Spiked axles are 3.50$ for the first one, and 3$ after. Made to fit 12mm YYF yoyos. Custom length axles are 4.50$ for the first one, and 4$ after.
-Silicone recesses Pad Recesses, Schmoove rings-5$ both sides, 3$ one side. Goes for plastic yoyos. Duncans, Yoyojams (If you don't mind there being a hole on the nipple) Add a dollar for schmoove rings
-Reshapes, highwalls Reshapes are mainly flat rims. 5$ for highwall or flatrim..
-Polish and satin- Metal or plastic. Not a mirror polish on metals but close. 10$ for a polish, 5$ for a satin, extra 5$ to strip off the anodize. Plastic satins/polishes are only done if you have chosen any of the other services.
Also, add 6$ for priority shipping with tracking number.

Nice! I'd recommend finding a way to clamp w/o needing to drill a hole through the YYJ's in time
-
Yeah but I do my recesses on a drill so there's no other way. And thanks! That means a lot coming from you!
-
wow really? that's easily the best drill recess I've ever seen. Sweet!
-
Thanks. It takes like an hour to tune it so the yoyo doesn't wobble on the drill. I have tried to recess my FH2 while the drill had a major wobble, cut right through the bearing seat.
-
Also do you think the prices are too high?
-
..
-
I'll give you a free bump.
-
Thanks.

Hubstacking for older FH2s, Dragonflys, Proflys, Moquitos with the screws, and Flying Squirrels!!
This is how I hubstack a duncan.
First, start off by cutting the hole where the black plug goes.
Then, make sure it's the size of the bearing. I make mine a press fit.
Then, you'll end up with this!!!

Cutting the hole is 7$. Please supply your own bearings and spacers. Send the spacers with the yoyo so I can make sure they stay on the bearing. Otherwise, they will easily fall off. Also, I can fit the hubstacks onto the yoyo in 2 different ways. The way stated above, or the spacers in in the nipple and the bearing is sticking out so you can use YYF Hubstacks or Dicestacks, this way will require the thicker spacers.
-
Alright, just wondering, is there enough people who want these kind of hubstacks? It's 17$ if you want me to supply the bearings. And, the spacers are pretty hard to find in bulk so, if there isn't enough demand, I will take this mod down.

When i get a FH2 i'll probably have it hubstacked by you, but that's probably a month down the road.
-
I can only do it on 2007 FH2s.

Well shoot. :-\

Nice Clean recess. I'll keep you in mind O0 Nice sili job too. Is that Motorsil?
-
No. Just Red Gasket Maker. And I may be able to hubstack 2010 FHZs. I'll try when I get home from school.
-
Update: YES!!
FH2010s can be hubstacked!! Pics up!! This FH2 had a little Acetone damage so that's why the cuts aren't as smooth.

Try it some time, i can probably send you my FHC
-
Sure. I sure it can be but I don't have a FHZs that don't have the nipple cracked so I can't try.
-
Thought I should bump this. Here are some mods.

Update on the hubstacking 2010 FH2s. With the 2010 FH2s, the bearing has to be facing out instead of the spacer. The spacer will not spin if the bearing is where the axle is. This method is compatible with dicestacks or hubstacks.

Do you think it'll work with Jimmy hats?

Probably.

I'm still doing mods, but the 5 free mods were only for the month of September. Sorry.

Anyone else want recess done?

I know a guy who wants to buy a modded FHZ. Do you sell new FHZs already modded? It's for 5A buy I'm not sure the mods needed
-
FHZs also play great with just one Dife Pad. And sorry, but I don't sell pre-modded FHZs. I might in the future though...

You should try selling them already modded, that in conjunction with a BST thread

Still modding.

could i send you my kickside? from germany? ;D nice mods btw :)

Sorry, but only U.S.

Bump.

Bump.

Ummm, still modding.

Here's a new update. I'm also doing Ghazi style paintjobs. Depending on what kind of work, the price will vary. A regular 2 color splash is 10$, price of designs on the caps can vary depending on how hard the design is. I don't have much pics of my work, but here is a recent one I did. http://www.yoyonation.com/talk/index.php/topic,102996.0.html (http://www.yoyonation.com/talk/index.php/topic,102996.0.html)

I bought a Freakhand and knowing the pads wouldn't last long, I decided to deepen the Pad Recess. Really annoying to deepen it since there are holes under the caps and the jeweler's screwdriver jumped each time I went over the holes. Turned out great though!!! $8 dollars for this mod for both sides. $5 for one side.
You can notice the recess is much deeper than the average Duncan Pad Recess.
And as you can see, it takes silicone very well. Nothing else was changed, still mint with a deeper recess.
Can a moderator move this to the BST?
-
You need to pm a moderator. They don't read all posts.
-
For future reference, if you have a single modified yoyo to sell, just make a BST thread. If, however, you want to offer regular modding services, contact Sottle about being set up as a Homebrew Affiliate - then you get your own thread where you can update pricing and services.

So all I have to do is pm Sottle? Don't I need more feedback?
-
I'll vouch for ya.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

no sarcasm here.
-
Haven't bumped this for a while.
-
How much to mod a FHZ and make it recessed with silicone, and also be able to put in a C size bearing?
-
Can easily recess it but not sure about bearing sizing, can probably mod it to a d sized.
-
SPR maybe?
-
yeah, size D is fine, like an SPR. All I want is for it to play wayyyyy better. Any other mods you can do that can increase the "performance"? Also, how much to recess it and put in an SPR bearing, including the bearing? Thanks
-

Also new poll for the spiked axles.
Also new poll for the spiked axles. These axles are very sharp and can hurt if you grasp them in a wrong way. They are much sharper than your average matador yoyo.
-
Truth be told, Im a bit intimidated of getting impaled by those spikes but at least its innovation right?
-

The spikes are cool I actually just did this to a YYR today!
-
Nice! Your's are better than mine lol. How sharp were they when you first finished?
-
WOW, that looks awesome Landon! (that's my Sleipnir) Can't wait to get it back, and I'll definitely have to have it blasted now.
-
They're about average sharpness I guess you could say haha. I knocked down the point to a fine dome (if that makes sense) w/ some emery paper
Keep up the modding dude! Already looking better than what you started w/. Are you still only using a drill/drill press?
Landon
-
Still only a drill lol. And I'm going to put up pics of a spiked axle in a bit, both ends.
-
Here's the axle! These take quite a while to make, so only if there is enough demand will I sell them, this fits all YYF 10mm Axle yoyos.
-
Hey yoyospirit, have you considered picking up a cheap or used lathe? I think if you can raise the money it would make it a lot easier to mod yoyos and maybe even try your have at making your own
-
I probably won't be able to get a lathe for a long run lol. And how much does a working lathe go for at it's cheapest?
-
Truth be told, Im a bit intimidated of getting impaled by those spikes but at least its innovation right?
A little sandpaper could round them off just enough to make them less painful.
-
what's the difference between satin and polish?
-
I probably won't be able to get a lathe for a long run lol. And how much does a working lathe go for at it's cheapest?
I believe Kyo has a guide for just such a question, but I remember the quote being something like 1000$ to get yourself going.
**of course, it's stickied in the Modders section:
http://www.yoyonation.com/talk/index.php/topic,23001.0.html (http://www.yoyonation.com/talk/index.php/topic,23001.0.html)
-
Thanks for the guide, and satining is using a low grit sandpaper to rough up the surface of the yoyo, mainly for grinding intents. Polishing is mainly using high grits to attain a smooth, shiny surface.
-
I see, thanks O0
-
My Taig set up is around $700.
Don't try to cut corners with your set up. You're better off spending money on somethings that will last than buying garbage.
